Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

When we divorced a year ago, my XH was ordered to make the payments on my vehicle, and once it was paid off, the title would come to me. The car needs more repairs than I can afford. No one in my area will even work on it, other than the dealership. I need to buy another car, one that does not need a "specialist" to do repairs. Because I still owe so much on the current car, I will be under on a new car. My XH has agreed to continue making the same monthly payment for the new car. Since the court order is for the old car, if I write a contract that states he agrees to contine paying the same amount on the new car, until the old car would have been paid off, and have it signed by a notary, will it hold up in court if he suddenly stops making the payments? Or is the court order on the "divorce car" null and void as soon as it is sold, even though he still owed quite a bit of money on it, and that balance is going to be added to the new car loan?

YOu will need to modify your divorce decree to state the facts above. Otherwise, when the old car goes so does his commitment to pay.
