Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have a domestic violence injunction against my wife (she is respondent). I am pursuing divorce. She had agreed through a third party to a simple divorce, never returned signed papers to me(through same third party) so I filed uncontested and put an ad in the paper. She responded to ad and contested stating financial and property issues. Court scheduled mediation set in 2 months. I do not know what she wants. Am I wrong to contact her directly (with restraining order in effect) to find out what she wants?

I would never recommend intentionally violating the court order. If there was no provision in the order for contact you may be forced to wait till mediation.

You would be wrong to contact her directly. Do not contact her directly or even through a friend. Your best bet would be to contact her through a lawyer or, barring that, wait to communicate with her through the mediator at your mediation.

If she has a restraining order against you then you can only contact her for legal purposes so limit your contact to legal issues.
