Can emails be contracts?
If 2 parties agree to something via emails, can that be considered a binding contract?

The answer to your question depends in great measure on the subject of the agreement. For example, suppose John agreed by e-mail to purchase a car from Fred. If John wrote something like "Fred, I agree to pay you $1000 to buy your 1992 Ford F150, and I will pay you this coming Saturday", and Fred replied, "John, I accept your offer of $1000 for the F150 and I will have the truck ready for you on Saturday at noon", that would probably be construed as a contract between the two.
On the other hand, suppose the subject was not a pickup truck, but cocaine. Buying and selling cocaine is illegal in and of itself, and so there would be no legally enforceable agreement between the two.
