Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
emancipated.
long story cut short = im 17. i live with my mother. Her son molested me when i was 8-11. i finally reported it to the police and they are investigating it. i work 3 days a week i make 220 a week. i do virtual schooling and have a's & b's. me and my mom havent got along any way but ever since i reported her son there is more tension than ever! almost like she thinks im lieing. ( but she will see ). I hate coming home after work , when i do i clean and then get back in my room. i hate it here. even she said it her self she knows i can take care of my self. but she does not want me leaving because she is a controling person. do you think it would be a good idea to get emancipated? do you think i got a good chance on getting emancipated?

Re: emancipated.
The catch for you is that there are two parts to being emancipated. 1) You have to prove you can support yourself and live on your own. Sounds like you can do that. But the catch is 2) you have to have your parents' permission. Under Florida law, you can't be emancipated unless your parents agree.
