Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Emansipation of a minor

I am a 17 year old female who has been verbaly abused and physically threatened for the last four years by my mother and father, they recently kicked me out of my house and I am just wondering what I can do about becoming emansipated at the age of 17 in the state of Florida, I have no prior run-ins with the law, I regularly attend school full time, and I am a good kid, I just need to know all my options as of now. Thankyou for your time.

Emancipation is a relatively simple process. You need to file a Petition with the Clerk of Court and request a hearing with the Judge. If you have been abused and cut off from your parents your request will probably be granted. Your county law library will have additional information. Good luck.
