Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Ending Child support

My divorce papers state that I pay child support until age 18. My payments were ordered payroll deducted. Do I need an court order to stop the payment and does domestic relations automatically stop when the child turns 18? I am not sure what actions I need to take if any, and how far ahead of time I need to submit anything that may be required.

Thanks for your help,

Re: Ending Child support

If your papers say that the obligation stops when the minor turns 18 then you are in good shape. You will probably need to call Talahassee to remind then and tell your employer to stop sending it when that happens.
