Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

How do you enforce a order for support ?

I am a single parent of a 13 year old. I couldn't

afford an attorney so I paid the child support enforcement office a small fee to enforce my order for

support. My question is;(1) Are there any penalties

that can be brought against him since he has been in

contempt of court many times? (2) Isit improper for me

to appeal to the judge to give him more than a slap

on the wrist? I go to court on 5/15/00. I am in court every 6 months, my intention is not to anger the judge

but to stop this merry-go-round with the legal system.

You should have the child support automatically deducted from his salary. With reference to more than a slap on the wrist would depend on the facts of the case. If he is working and has the ability to pay and doesn't, then he could be found in contempt. Contempt could mean jail time, take away his drivers license and some other remedies.
