Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

enforcing contempt order

I sued my ex for Contempt of Court for unpaid medical bills for our son. He was ordered to start making payments April 1, 2002. He has not done so. What is my recourse? Thank you

Re: enforcing contempt order

You will need to file a new Motion for Contempt or a Motion for Order for Rule to Show Cause (why your ex should not be incarcerated for his failure to comply with a lawful court order). This is a somewhat complicated procedure and you would be well served by hiring a competent lawyer to represent your interests in this action.

You could go back to court and ask the judge to enter an order compelling your ex to follow the court order. You would also be able to request attorney's fees related to the costs of the action.
