Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Executors and Child Trustees

If my husband and I passed away and our children were left to someone, and our will shows one person to be the executor, can we write our own addition to the will and file it showing how the money should be used for our children and who should care for them? Or does the entire will have to be rewritten? If we appoint a trustee does that give them full right to the money left for the children?

Re: Executors and Child Trustees

You need a new will setting forth the personal representative and guardian for your children. You may also want to set up a trust for your children, which is a separate document.
