Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My ex-girlfriend and I have a 6 year old daughter, and just recently she had to move out of where she was living, and where she moved to she could not take our child, so she sent our daughter to live with her parents, should I have been given the option of taking her and if so what can I do to make it happen, I believe she didnt ask me so she could keep getting the child support
