Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I'm expecting a baby and the baby's father is not wishing to be in the life so I told him I would get child support from him so I can raise the child on my own but he is stating that he is going to try and get full custody of the baby. But he has a violent history of abuse towards others. In my eyes he is unfit to raise a child. Will the court give him custody of the child even though he is a violent offender?

That's one big, black mark against him, but you haven't given us enough information for us to be able to make any kind of prediction as to who will get custody.

You should petition the court for custody and child support.

The court will consider both of you and will determine what is in the child's best interest.
