Possibly. In order to get an extension you will need to file a Motion for Extension of Time in Which to file an Answer or some similarly titled motion. In the motion, set forth the reasons why you need additional time and provide a copy of it to the other party's counsel, if represented.

Most judges will grant a reasonable request and allow anywhere from 5 - 20 days additional.
