Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

To what extent can a lawyer go to serve you a subpoena

My boyfriend is going through a very nasty divorce and has been for the last 2 years. His wifes attorney served me last year, made me wait in the office for over two hours and then came out and said, ''we dont need you go home.'' Now they have been trying to serve me for the last month with no sucess. I just received a letter from them requesting that I call them and give them a convenient time to be served or they will use court intervention. What does that mean? They are wanting to know what he has given me finanacially since he has been with me. I assure you, NOT MUCH. What are my rights? I dont want them pilfering throught my finances.

Court intervention, means they will seek a court order to compel you to appear. Better to do so voluntarily. You have the right to retain counsel to protect your privacy at the deposition
