Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Family Law

I want to either take my 17 yr old to Oregon with me or let her stay here and finish school living here with her step-brother and sister. What are my options? My ex who is always behind on his child support and never even tries to come see her or call says that i cannot do either. At her age doesn't she have a say?

Technically, no, she doesn't have a say. If you leave her here with her step-brother and sister, your ex has the right to come and take her to his home (though whether she'd stay with him is another question). Also, you aren't supposed to move a minor out of the state without the father's or the court's permission. Sounds like you have a good shot at getting a judge's permission, but it may take a few months if the father fights it.
