Father not allowed around.
My boyfriend was with a girl that he got pregnant before we got together. Well, since they have broken up he has wanted everything to do with his son who is not born yet. His son is due next week. The mother is not letting him in the delivery room but now she is not even going to tell him when the baby is due and when she goes into labor. She will not even give the baby his last name. My boyfriend wants to know what can be done so he can be there when his son in born and for him to have his fathers last name.

He can file a paternity suit now, but judges feel that a father has no right to be present in the delivery room over the mother's objection. After the child is born, the paternity suit can be used to establish a parenting plan (visitation and support or custody) and the child's last name.
