Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am the father of a beautiful baby born this week. Last week I was coerced into signing a adoption disclosure BUT did not sign a consent form. Can I still get custody of my newborn daughter even though my girlfriend signed her off to adoption?

I am not licensed in your state, so I cannot give legal advice about your question specifically. But I can give general "theoretical" advice.

You do have a right to parent your child. If one parent relinquishes parental rights then, at least in my state, the other parent retains his or her right to parent the child.

I echo the advice you've received from the Florida attorney. Get an attorney for this. Courts are very careful when the case involves a child. You do not want to make a mistake here simply because you want to avoid the expense of hiring legal counsel.
