Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

IF a father has not had anything to do with his child for 8 years, has only recently begun to pay support, has had a drug problem in the past , been arrested for domestic violence, and been diagnosed as bi polar how likely is he to get visitation with his child if he files for it in court?

First you will need proof of all of the above and secondly - has he been in rehab and has been able to hold a job and what is his current situation. There are a lot more facts that need to be learned before you can get an accurate answer. However, if he is bi polar and this has been the main cause of his actions, then he might could get visitation but it would have to be supervised andyou would have to request that from the court and be successful in your evidence.
