Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
The father of my four year old isn't on her birth certificate but the state did a DNA test proving he is the father. He has been in and out of jail and prison her whole life and never been involve with her at all. He is just now wanting to be involved. He is a felon and ran from the law. I'm afraid to let him see her because he may try to run away with her. What should I do?

If he hasn't filed a paternity case, he has no rights to timeshare, and you can lawfully prevent it. But that doesn't mean you should prevent it. If you are fairly certain he'll take the child, you have to do what you have to do, but if he files for paternity (to get timeshare), he'll claim you aren't the better parent to have primary timeshare because you won't cooperate with regard to letting him see the child.
