Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am a father of a 5 year old child and I pay child support( taken out of my paycheck each week). I am now being told in addition to the support I must provide health insurance for my son. Despite the fact I am paying support, I have no knowledge of where my son is or how to reach him or his mother. In order for me to get health insurance for him, my employer needs my son's social security number and the name of a doctor, yet I have no way to get this information.

I live in NY state and have not seen my son in 4 years.

I would gladly like to pay for the insurance. I would also like to see my son and dont know how to do this either.

Thanks

Need more info. Is your child in Florida? Did y ou receive papers stating that you needed to add insurance. In Florida - child support is based on the income of both parties and the ability of one to pay the insurance, child care etc. These are all factors to the actual amounjt due per month for the child. If this is being requested by the child enforcement division and not by a court hearing, then perhaps so. As to visitation, you have every right to have visitation unless it has been proven some reason as to why you have not seen your child. File a Petition in the proper court for visitation.
