Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Fed. Court--Supoena Plaintiff Mom...

I appreciate your response--as a result of a related matter--this is why we can introduce this family law case in Federal Court...

Is it just a regular supoena to bring my mother to court to testify as to her care/refute allegations, etc?(As she is a plaintiff/the subject of the court case?)

What kind of sanctions/punishment could I be bringing upon myself by navigating the jungle sans attorney? I haven't gotten anywhere w/an attorney--and have spent A LOT of $$$...It's proceed alone--or just roll over and let them walk over me--which I think is unfair. I would hope a judge would see that and not punish me for a lack of attorney if I were to make a mistake...

It's just a regular subpoena. Though, if your mother is a party, she should probably be attending all court hearings anyway.

Federal judes rarely give any slack to unrepresented persons. In fact, they're not supposed to. In Federal court, you go forward unrepresented at your peril. Mistakes in Federal court are not forgiven. One Federal rule alone, Rule 11, has been used to punish LAWYERS for millions of dollars. Imagine what it could do to someone who doesn't know the rules.

Believe me when I say there is nothing more expensive than NOT having a lawyer.
