Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My Fianc�e�s children have said several times �daddy has a big gun under his pillow�. He has primary care of the children and is a felon. How can we pursue this. One he cannot own a firearm by Florida law and Two the minor children have access to the firearm which is also a violation of the law. He is protected under the fourth amendment but since the children are at risk this needs to be looked into. I am sure any judge would give her custody if this is true and he will go to jail.
