Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Fiance's Ex-Wife's New Hubby Claims He has Already Adopted Fiance's Son, With No

My fiance and I have a really big problem. He has a 9yr old son that he hasnt be ''allowed'' to see in well over a year, his ex wont give him a phone number or correct address, refuses child support when sent via HRS, absolutely refuses any contact between him and his son, she was supposed to notify him when they were near for spring break, just out of curiosity he called her grandmother's house and her ''new husband'' answered and wouldnt let him talk to his ex, then notified my fiance that they had his son only 30minutes away from where he lives for a whole week and didnt let him know....and then informed my fiance that he had adopted his son in April, claims that the court allowed this to happen with no signature because they sent notification to a P.O. Box in Florida when his ex knows that he has been living in Georgia for 2years...and they claim they put notification in Florida newspaper, when he had a georgia address at the time.....IS THIS POSSIBLE i feel they are lying because he called back 30min later and they had already packed their bags and were on their way home, just to keep my fiance from seeing his son....someting is very peculiar about this....HOW CAN THIS BE LEGALLY POSSIBLE?

I'm guessing that the divorce was in FL. If so, the FL decree would control. However, since (I think) you and he are in GA, you might want to seek a consultation with a local attorney to review the divorce papers and at least give you an initial opinion.
