Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

If I have to file a Motion of Contempt against my ex,he owes me child support and alimony. Ex stopped paying on his own. I just received my first retirement check,will a judge hold my retirement check against me if my ex owes me money. The retirement was part of my MSA. Thanks

I'm sorry, but if you clearly were entitled to the retirement checks per the M.S.A., why would you think the Court will hold that against you? Your inexperience with our legal system is probably making you over-think things.

If he owes you child support and alimony, then he owes it. As long as he had/has the ability to pay what he owes, the Court should sanction him, and at a minimum Order him to pay what he owes.

If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a �do over� if things go badly.
