I am having to file seperation papers and request for support as well, I have just moved to Asheville NC. I have lived here one month. My husband & I have been married 33.5 years. We were married in Polk County, Florida and lived in Polk County Florida the last 10 years.

You haven't asked any question and you don't mention where your husband is living. But if you are wondering where you can file, generally you have to live in one place for at least six months. For example, to file in Florida, you must have been a resident for at least the previous six months. Here is how the Florida statute reads:

61.021 Residence requirements.--To obtain a dissolution of marriage, one of the parties to the marriage must reside 6 months in the state before the filing of the petition.

If your husband and all your marital property is in Polk County, Florida, you will probably need to file there.
