If you have been served with a summons and petition, most likely to modify or terminate the support obligation, you will have to respond within 20 days of service. You will have to file a responsive pleading answering each of his claims in the petition. Without seeing the petition and everything within, it is hard to give you an effective answer as to what you should do. You really would benefit by retaining an attorney on your case.

Without reading the papers no one can answer properly. Generally, you must file a written answer with the court to any written complaint you receive. I would be happy to meet you for a free consultation.
