Some counties offer very limited, free help in or near the courthouse with completing divorce forms. Ask the clerk if your county has such help. Don't ask the clerk for help--they won't give it--and don't ask for the legal aid office--they might give it but that's a different place and they don't just help with forms--just ask if they have a staff attorney's office nearby that will give you assistance with forms completion.

Also, as an aside, you're talking custody here, and you don't even know how to fill out the forms. Not to be rude at all, but you're talking about your children's future. Do you really want to risk screwing this up? Do you kids a favor and find the money for a lawyer. Their future may depend on it.

If this were a simple matter, then the forms the court provides could be used. However, when you are seeking help with custody, visitation and child support issues, you really need to hire the services of an attorney. If you can not afford one, see if you can find one that would be willing to take payments or apply for help with the legal aid offices in your area. Remember, even if you qualify for a probono attorney, there may not be one available.
