what does a notice of filing and sealing mean (letter from the judge)

It means that someone--usually the clerk, the judge, or the opposing party--wants all or a portion of the record sealed away from public records. In many counties, this is done automatically for the Notice of Social Security Number filed in family law cases. In all counties, it's done automatically for many kinds of adoptions.
