Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Final Judgment Status
My ex-husband and I went to mediation and we agreed to visitations as well as a set amount of child support. Because of constant bickering, he ceased to visit with our child.
I have just recently discovered that our case was Dismissed w/out prejudice and Closed (it has the word statistically to it). I was never notified of this change.
Does that means that the Final Judgment is no longer valid? I am concern that the order for child support payments is nulled.
Please help!

Re: Final Judgment Status
NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
Without knowing the actual specifics of your case, it sounds as if you went to mediation but never followed through with a final hearing. The case was probably dismissed due to inactivity.
If so, you can usually pay a fee and file a motion to reopen the case. You would then need to have the matter set for final hearing and have the court incorporate the agreement at mediation into a Final Judgment.
