Finance help

My husband and I are still married. I moved out because of verbal abuse. He refuses to help me financially in any way. I get a small retirement but not enough for all expenses. We share bank account, my question is can I withdraw from the account without his approval?

Yes, you can withdraw funds from the account without his approval. However, he and you have equal legal responsibility for over-drafts on the shared account. I suggest you consider getting a divorce because of the abuse. The court could then divide the marital assests that would allow you to support yourself.
