My husband wants half of my savings. Can I legally place up to 10,000 in an acount under each of my 2 childrens names prior to the divorce?

No. That would be a fraud upon the court and would be overturned by the judge when it got exposed... and it would be exposed. That would then have the judge question everything else you do and would place you in bad standing with the court.

You can legally give your children anything you want. But, in a divorce it might come back to haunt you since your husband may convice the judge that the transfer was for the purpose of defrauding him his rightful share of the estate and the judge may well order that the gifts come fully from your share.
