Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

help me find my daughter

What can I do about my daughter's mother not letting me see or talk to my 4 year old daughter in close to two years? I don't know where she lives (although I do know she is still in the state) and I don't know her phone number (she changes it every time I figure it out). I do not have the money to take her to court. I feel as if she has basically kidnapped my child by finding loopholes in the legal system and have found others in nearly the same sad situation.

Re: help me find my daughter

At the very least take her to court without an attorney. You will have to pay the filing fee and service by either process or publication. You have to do something. Some counties have "self-help" clerks that will help you. If there is an order giving you the right to visit the child, the mother is in contempt. If there was an order for you to pay support of course you are also in contempt and could end up in jail if you don't have the money. If there was NO order and you were not married, you need to file a petition to determine paternity. Good luck.
