Florida child support question

To what age do you have to pay child support in florida if ordered by the state ? Do you have to pay when child goes to college?

Unless otherwise stated in a final judgment, child support runs til the kid turns 18 unless the kid is still in high school, and then it runs until the kid graduates high school. If the kids becomes emancipated before turning 18 (gets married, enters tactive duty military, etc), child support would end at emancipation. enerally, you are not obligated by law to pay child support for the kid once he/she enters college UNLESS the final judgment orders you do so.

Child support orders do not terminate automatically. YOu must go to Court to end your child support obligation, so for example, let's say your kid turns 18 in January, is still enrolled in high school, and is scheduled to graduate June 1. You should file an action in Court in Jan/Feb to get the support obligation stopped effective the graduation date.
