Florida Exteneded Family Visitation
Does the maternal Aunt or half-brother of a child have visitation rights or can the custodial parent deny visitation even after a relationship has been esblished for several years?

You can petition for visitation but the court must find that granting it is in the best interest of the child (reducing visitation to a court order). Furthermore, if a parent objects to the visitation, you must prove even more. You must show the court that not granting visitation would be detrimental to the child.

As such there are no visitation rights for any family. Used to be grandparents had "rights" but not any more.
Of course, there is the "best interests of the child" test and a court might allow it under that theory, but you need to have the lawyer in the jurisdiction where the case is venued.
