Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Florida laws about men leaving a woman pregnant and not responding

I am 5 months pregnant and the

baby's father is not responding. What

should I do? Do I have rights during

my pregnancy or do I have to wait till

the baby is born? I'm wondering

because I heard from a court that he

is responsible for my pregnancy. What

are the Florida laws for this?

If you and the child's father are not married and he knows about the pregnancy, he should be providing you with support. If he is not doing so (and you are not preventing him from providing support), he is jeopardizing his future rights to parent the child. Whether or not you want him to be involved with parenting the child, I have no idea. I suggest you contact an attorney who has experience in the area of paternity for a consult. Best wishes to you and your baby.
