Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Forced visitation?

My ex moved to NY with his family and doesn't want his new collegues/church/friends, etc. to know about our daughter because we had an affair and she was born out of wedlock. He pays child support, but has nothing to do with her because of the above. We have joint custody and a visitation agreement. Can visitation be forced on the non-custodial parent?

Re: Forced visitation?

No. It is unfortunate that the father does not want to participate in his child's life. However, there is no way to force visitation. Anyway, I doubt such a thing would benefit the child.

Re: Forced visitation?

No and I would never force someone to see their child. The tension created would be horrific for the child.
