What are grandparent's rights when a child is put in foster care? Can a child be placed in the care of grandparent rather than foster care?

Yes. You should retain someone in Florida.

The State has the authority to place a child where it believes the interests of the child will be best served and met. Usually, they will try to place the child with a relative if the facts of the taking of the child will permit but this is not always prudent.
I would strongly suggest that you obtain legal counsel to represent you and your interests and try to intercede and have the child placed in your home.
