Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

a friend married 35 yrs. husband left/filing for divorce. retired military/2 grown children, wife has no income. He states he does not have to give her any financial support. Is this true in Florida? She has no job and 35 yr. son lives with her. He has Epilepsy, works minimum wage.
