Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
a friend of mine filed for a divorce over a year ago but his wife refused to sign the papers.is the next step to file a motion for default? and if it is, is it too late? and if its not what is the next step the reason for the delay was because the lawyer that he had told him that he needed to come with $3000.00 to proceed can the process be done with out a lawyer in as much as she failed to reply?

You are always entitled to represent yourself but it sounds like you need to retain a lawyer to help you through the process. The absence of a lawyer is why it's drug out so long. It's probably in your best interest to retian a lawyer. You can probably file a default now if there has been proper service.
