Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have a friend who has been with a woman for 9 yrs. they have recently broken up and it has not been nice. He began to move some things out of the house they lived in together for the last 3 yrs. we were told that if she wanted to get him ut of the house she needs to evict him like a tenant. and then he would have 30 days to get his belongings out. well her new son-in-law has taken over and had her change the locks. we think he is entitled to a key since she has not gone thru the proper channels. can you help with what his rights are.

You've been told correctly. She needs to evict him. But as a practical matter, what's he going to do, move back in? What she's done is wrong, but he needs to call the police who will get her to allow him in to get his stuff.
