How can I gain custody of my 8 year old daughter and 3 year old son if the mom has abandoned them to her parents, and they will not allow me to contact my children?

Assuming you have father's rights (you were married to the mother or there is a court order declaring you the father), you can just go get the kids. The police will assist you, if need be.

If you haven't been awarded father's rights, you need to file a petition for paternity and primary timeshare (custody).
