Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Good morning,

This is tricky as I really dont know what my question should be.

I got married in Miami, Dade in 2006. On Jan. 31, 2010 I recieved an e-mail from a woman stating that she too is married to "my" husband. She has produced a marriage certificate from New York State, indicating that he married her in March of 2000. He does have two children with this woman but is adamant that he is not married to her. I guess my question would be-where do I start to uncover the truth and if this certificate she has given me is valid. All of this needs to be adressed but I have no clue where to start. If it is true how do I proove it and proove that my marriage is either null and void or clearly ligit.

You should investigate the alleged NY marriage. Is the certificate valid? Was there a divorce?

There are numerous online providers that will allow you to get a certified copy of a marriage license record. A website you could consider is http://vitalrec.com/marriagelicenses

If your spouse is divorced, where are the documents? Go to the county in which the divorce took place and search the records online for divorce. Who was the attorney who handled the divorce.
