Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I want to see my grandmother!!!!
It seems to be impossible for me and my brother to see our Grandmother, Because of the CPA who has power of attorney over her along with the CPA having the Same attorney as my grandmother ( is that legal? ) and the 24 hour care she has at her home they managed to make it from difficult to impossible to see her by limiteding the time to visit between 2 & 3 for only ten mins by making apointments in adavanced. We have been asked to stay by our grandmother and been told by the caretaker we cannot and must go. We have even showed up at our Grandmother's home and not allowed to enter because she is resting, We were waving to her through the windows as she waved back as we were told she is resting as an excuse to not permit us inside, I asked the caretaker her name and she would not give it to me. She has Alzheimers and has a hard time remembering us if were not there everyday. The CPA and attoreny is worried about losing their free ride, Me and my Brother are worried about losing our grandmother, She is almost 90 years old and we cant even see her. Please help!!!

Re: I want to see my grandmother!!!!
This appears to be a very complex guardianship issue, with many questions including what kind of power of attorney does the CPA have? As a result, I recommend you consult with an experienced attorney in your area. To give you a brief overview, guardians can be appointed by the court in instances where an adult is mentally incapable of taking care of himself/herself. A guardian of a person directs the individuals day to day living, socializing, medical care etc. A ward's interests are intended to be protected by Florida rules governing the activities of a guardian.
