Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Grandparent adoption

My daughter wants her father and me to adopt her three-year-old daughter. The biological father has never seen the child, has never supported her, and is a registered sex offender. The reason he left town is because he was going to be arrested for not registering. Does he still have to be contacted. What are his chances of visitation, etc., if he fights the adoption.

Re: Grandparent adoption

You haven't provided enough information for me to give you the odds, and you asked about one of the most complex complex lawsuits in family law, that is, terminating a parent's rights. Most judges will give a parent visitation if they answer the lawsuit, object to the adoption, and show up for hearings, but, given the facts you're suggested, your case may be different.

In any case, you must make attempts to serve the faher with the adoption. You should certainly speak to a Family Lawyer.
