Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Our grandson lives in Montana and the mother of our grandson is loosing custody and the court system in great falls “cascade county mt” isn’t considering us the grandparents of our grandson but instead is leaning to the second cousin of the mother but she is only doing it for the $1500 a month. We told them we didn’t need the 1500$ monthly but only want to take care of our grandson.

I am not sure what Montana law is but I suspect that if the mother is loosing custody, my question would be where is the father???? Secondly, does she have the choice of who gets her son if she looses custody? I suggest you find out who the Judge is on this case and be present for a hearing via ZOOM (video) so that you can be heard.
