guardianship of great neice & nephew

My sister is raising her grandchildren and has a notorized guardianship of them from her daughter. These kids have been abanondoned since age of 3 & 4 by both parents.My sister has lung cancer and wants the children to come to me & my husband after her death. What do we need to do legally to make this happen. They live in Florida and I live in Texas.

I assume you mean that your sister has power of attorney for the care of the kids. The only effect a notary seal ever has is attest to the authenticity of the signature. Your sister does not have the legal authority to grant you legal custody of the children. From the information in your question, it appears that she may have acquired legal standing to file a suit to involuntarily terminate mom and dad's parental rights enroute to an adoption. She needs to visit with an attorney in Florida as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it also appears that you and your husband have absolutely no standing to legally intervene.
