Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Guardianship

I went to prison in 2003 and I signed guardianship papers for my 11 year old daughter over to very close friends of the family. I have been out of prison since March of this year and have my own apartment, car and job. (stability). My daughters father has never really been in her life, however he recently contacted me wanting to see our daughter. I do not have a problem with it, but her guardians do. They are saying that because he is not on her birth certificate and I put on the guardianship papers (with their urging) that the father was unknown, that he has to get a DNA before he can talk to her. Basically my question is that what exactly does a guardianship paper include and what would I have to do to get it revoked? And how hard would it be to regain custody of my daughter? Thank you

Re: Guardianship

Only the court can award guardianship. You can seek to vacate the order and the court will look at the best interests of the child.
