Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i have a half brother i have never seen him before. we got seperated when we were babies. i recently started talking to him. he lives in NC and i live in FL. i am 17 and he is 14. his caregiver wont let me talk with him on the phone because im on a certain side of the family. but i didnt do anything to deserve this. can i do anything about it?

Write the care giver and explain your situation - perhaps if you can convience this person that you are not a threat - then perhaps they would allow contact. Otherwise, you will have to wait until he becomes emancipated or 18.
