Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
hello,my daughter was murdered in pensacola florida and im having problems with the state of florida, for over a year now because im from alabama to get custody of my grand daughter from my ex husband that is a residence of florida.my ex husband is sick with liver problems and diabetes.he is also an alcoholic with a drug addicted wife of crack cocaine.the state attorney for family and children of pensacola florida represented them.because i am a residence of the state of alabama i could not get my grand daughter and was not ever recognized, nor allowed to speak during any court hearing.it was like i was invisible.the judge awarded my ex husband custody and i have now gotten an attorney and she did an appeal but she sent me back a letter stating that the state attorney for the family and children service denied me an appeal because it was not done within 10 days and their stating im a non party as defined by statue..what other option do i have or do i not?

If your ex is in that bad a shape and the wife of the ex is a drug addict, then you need to report them to the Dept. of Children and Family SErvices that the child may be in an unfit home. If they are found to be unfit then you can petition the court for custody as a relative.
