Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Hi,

I am a foreigner with a Green Card. I married an American a year 1/2 ago in Florida, without agreement. Most of the money comes from my side, he has no savings, only his pension (we are in our 70s). I own a property in Florida and one in France, plus a saving account. I want to sell the French apartment in order to buy a bigger one.

It seems that we need to do a post-nuptial agreement in Florida before doing an act in France. I want to protect my children (he doesn't have any) and myself in case I get handicapped or incapacitated. I don't think we will get divorced at our ages, but I want to make sure my money comes back to me in any case.

Can you please give me the best way to proceed?

I thank you very much for your assistance.

Will he consent and sign? Have you discussed this with him? Your attorney can prepare the agreement but his attorney must review.

Hire a lawyer to prepare the post-nuptial agreement, that is the smart move.
