Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband got a divorce in 2005 in ny. he moved to florida and claims that in order to sell his home in ny he had to refile for his divorce in 2010. is this a normal proedure? i assumed once a divorce is final you don't ever have to redo it.

I don't know anything about New York law, but I've never heard of redoing a divorce. My fear would be that if his first divorce in 2005 was not a valid divorce, then your marriage to him isn't legal because he was still married to someone else at the time you got married. If that's true, then your marriage to him is void, and the two of you need to get remarried, assuming you really want to be married. You may want to speak to a New York lawyer to find out the truth.
